SIKU (https://siku.org/ ) is an application that allows community members to provide and extract relevant environmental information on local conditions. SmartICE (https://smartice.org/ ) in addition provides thickness measurements and in particular information on landfast ice relevant to coastal communities.

Local sea ice information can be supplemented with in-situ measurements such as are found through the Polar Data Catalogue (PDC), SIKU, and Smart-ICE initiatives.
