- It is a hybrid product that uses remote sensing, rain gauge stations, and sounding observations. CloudSat, TRMM, and GPM combined climatology are used to adjust precipitation values, with CloudSat dominating at high latitudes (65 N-82 N). This may be an improvement of the representation of precipitation in the Canadian North, but there are some inhomogeneities in the record. This is not considered a Climate Data Record like V2.3. Use with some caution.
